LEED®: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. MWA - Commercial Roofing Solutions offers consultation and products to achieve LEED certification.

Photovoltaic: Photovoltaic, or PV for short, is a solar power technology that uses solar cells or solar photovoltaic arrays to convert light from the sun directly into electricity. MWA - Commercial Roofing Solutions, through its strategic partners, offers analysis that will include a physical review of your site's suitability for a solar energy system, an analysis of your energy consumption, and a recommendation of the most appropriate solution for your facility. In order to promote the use of solar power, local, state, and federal government entities often provide valuable incentives and rebates that can reduce the cost of a solar electric system. The availability of these incentives is an important consideration in evaluating the economic attractiveness of a solar investment.

CRRC - Cool Roof Rating Council: CRRC provides radiative property data on roof surfaces to improve the energy efficiency of buildings while positively impacting the environment. Firestone has a selection of membranes and coatings for these applications.

There are three general types:
  • Intensive - Soil depth greater than 8″ and weighing 25 lbs per square foot or more.
  • Simple Intensive - Soil depth of 4 to 8 inches and weighing between 15 and 25 lbs per square foot.
  • Extensive - Soil depth of 4 inches or less and weighing 15 lbs per square foot or less.
Firestone has partnered with the LiveRoof® the leading “prevegetated” tray system manufacture to provide a system that combines performance and simplicity. Our garden roofs are started and grown to a lush maturity locally by an expert grower’s network. This eliminates most of the costly time and labor associated with other roof top tray systems. The system also helps you protect the environment by helping us minimize fuel use and emissions in our service and delivery.

Firestone has a selection of membranes including both Platinum TPO (080 mil) and Platinum EPDM (090 mil) for these applications. 20-year Red Shield warranties are available. Please contact us for help in system selection, LEED compliance, detailing, and warranty requirements.
